Tour: Damanand Group
Duration: 6 Days
Date: AUG 2017
Dear Mr Ali,
I was very happy with our Damavand tour, the tour guide Eshan was very experienced with mountaineering and a perfect guide, as he have climbed 8000 m summits he really knows what he is talking about and has tons of knowledge to share for anyone interested. Everything from the day we arrived to Tehran and got picked up at the airport went very smooth such as transports, hotels, payments and so on. The accommodation in tents on the mountain is a much better option then the Simorgh camp as it was quite dirty, the food on the mountain was prepared in a cooking tent serving good food for being on a mountain, no need for freeze dried food which is a big plus!! The tour company Arian Tour were very helpful and answered any question asked very quickly both before arriving in Iran and after payment, you could really feel that they want to take care of their customers and not just their cash. I can really recommend the tour to Damavand for some adventure, however it should be noted that the acclimatization can be quite tough as second night is at 4200 m. The camp can be quite full around their weekends (Friday) so the best starting day might probably be Sunday or Monday in order to avoid the crowds. After the climb we went back to Tehran, I can really recommend the restaurant we got recommended by the guide Ehsan, it was called Koohpayeh and were situated in the north of Tehran, the subway system was very convenient to use to get around the city.
Thank you Arian tour for a good experience! Martin from Sweden
